The Burcham has been recognised at the Australian Institute of Architects Awards – receiving a Commendation in Heritage Architecture. The adaptive re-use of the Wrigley’s Chewing Gum Factory into residential warehouse apartments, creatively integrated with two new 4 and 5-storey apartment buildings, creates a sense of authentic character and place that can otherwise be difficult to achieve successfully in new development.
